What is ECT and BCT in Packaging?

ECT is short for Edge Crush Test and BCT for Bursting Compression Test. They are methods used to measure the strength and durability of corrugated cardboard.

ECT measures the amount of force required to crush the edge of a piece of corrugated cardboard. It assesses the cardboard's resistance to crushing when stacked. BCT measures the force required to rupture or burst the cardboard when pressure is applied.
