Flush core 

Stretch wrap (also known as stretch film and pallet wrap) is a strong plastic film that is easily stretched around items, especially items on a pallet. The elastic recovery of the wrap means that it keeps the items tightly bound, so that palletised items are stabilised and unit loads can be created.

Our stretch wrap is easily applied either by hand or with our hand-held dispenser. The wrap adheres to itself once it is wrapped around the pallet, or around goods, and protects the goods against dust and weather. Stretch film retains its tension while in transit, so items do not move around and get damaged.

All rolls have a core diameter of 38mm or 50mm and are fully compatible with our hand held stretch wrap dispensers. The cores themselves weigh 190g for 400mm wide and 300g for 500mm wide films.

We currently offer a wide variety of different types of pallet wrap, which includes light to extra heavy-duty stretch film rolls.

Our flush core range of pallet wrap films are manufactured from high quality clear films (cast and blown) available in many different thicknesses and colours, to suit various applications.

The medium duty (our most popular stretch) is 17 micron to suit most general pallet wrapping applications and is available in 400mm or 500mm wide rolls.

Alternatively we supply heavy duty film in a 20 micron thickness, which works well with heavier goods and irregular shaped loads. Our extra heavy duty rolls are 30 micron thick, to provide better protection for sharp pallets and ‘ugly’ freight, and prove particularly popular in the construction and building industries.

Extended core

Wrapping systems with an extended core make it easier and quicker to wrap goods by hand. The core extends by 65mm each end of the roll. Great for keeping goods tightly bound and palletised items stable, the film will retain its tension whilst in transit.

Extended core stretch film is easily applied by hand thanks to the extended cardboard core which effectively acts as a handle and can be held whilst wrapping the film around your products. The wrap adheres to itself once it is wrapped around your goods and protects them against dust and weather.

We sell a range of extended core stretch wraps, from medium and heavy duty to general purpose. We recommend our heavy duty 20 micron for large or irregularly-shaped loads.

These extended core stretch films are manufactured from high performance cast material. Production tolerances are strictly regulated so that we can guarantee consistent and accurate thickness and roll length.

Pre-stretch film is stretched during the manufacturing process and then and wound onto rolls. This results in a lightweight film that is ideal for wrapping cages and  pallets. It will produce significantly less waste than traditional films, which can help to reduce packaging waste obligations. It is cost efficient when compared to traditional pallet wrap.

Our pre-stretch film has a rolled edge, meaning that the rolls are highly durable and are able to work without splitting even if dropped or misused. Pre-stretch (Chrome grade) hand pallet wrap is made using a blend of Octene (C8) and Hexene (C6) polymer.

Cast or blown film?

Stretch film is manufactured in either ‘cast’ or ‘blown’. Below are some key facts relating to each type.

Cast

• Cast film has very good transparency, enabling barcodes and labels to easily be read through the wrapping.
• Our cast stretch wrap has extremely good tear resistance, when comparing Kite Packaging’s range to other films on the market.
• Our cast pallet wrap has an extremely quiet unwind reducing noise levels over many other films.
• Due to the technologies used in the manufacture of Kite Packaging cast film it has very consistent cling and thickness throughout the roll.

Blown

• Blown stretch wrap has a very high puncture resistance compared to other films on the market
• Kite Packaging blown stretch wrap puts a high force onto the pallet, creating strong load stability
• Blown wrap is very tacky and will stick to pallets in very dusty or extremely cold (-32 Degrees C) wrapping environments.

Our entire clear hand stretch wrap range is made from high performance cast film; one of the most commonly used materials and the highest quality type. It is perfect for general use and will ensure that the products on your pallet are all kept safe and protected from dust.

Flush and extended core - we can guarantee consistent and accurate thickness and roll length through strictly regulated production tolerances. Our factory manufactures film to ISO 9001 certification and conducts the following quality checks:

• Friction: Checks the smoothness of the film
• Elongation: Measures how much the film stretches
• Dart drop impact: Records the pressure required to puncture the film

Coloured films

Our blue stretch wrap is commonly used in food packaging, and used to distinguish food from other non-food pallets. The blue tint is instantly recognisable in the food industry as a non-food item, as there are no food products that are naturally blue in colour.

We also supply security stretch in an opaque black or white, designed to stop your goods from being identified once they are on your pallet, should they be valuable or sensitive. The coloured film will also offer UV protection to wrapped goods.

Our 20-micron blown, extended core opaque red pallet wrap is the perfect addition when security is key and hides the content of pallets unlike many of the red tint pallet wraps available currently in the market place. Commonly used for pallet security or colour coding, this high puncture resistance stretch film offers great cling strength and pallet load stability.
