Kite Packaging Opens New Swindon Branch

The two acre site was opened by Kite’s Chairman and Managing Partners

Premier UK packaging distributor, Kite Packaging, has officially opened its brand-new branch for Thames Valley and South Wales, based in Swindon.

The renovated building based in South Marston Industrial Estate was acquired back in October of last year, and was officially opened this week by Bruce McInnes, Kite Packaging’s Chairman, as well as the company’s Managing Partners and Swindon team.

The new Thames Valley investment is one of Kite’s biggest property expansions this year. The 36,000 sq. ft. facility is an 18,000 sq. ft. increase from the previous space, which resided in Swindon’s IO Centre.

Stretching out to almost two acres of office and yard space, the branch has increased its capacity by 40%, and has introduced a state-of-the-art, fully-racked warehouse facility, which can accommodate 5,000 pallets of packaging. This is essential for Kite’s branches, which offers a stock-holding service for many of its customers.

The new site is a much needed resource for the branch, which has experienced significant growth since it moved to the IO Centre in 2007. Employee numbers have now doubled, to support the growth in branch turnover, and it now supplies bespoke packaging to several major UK business customers.

This is the third property Grand Opening for Kite Packaging, who opened its Sittingbourne branch back in February (an acquisition of Burnhead Packaging Supplies), and cut the ribbon on its new Portsmouth branch in June.

Neil Spears, Managing Partner of Kite Packaging Thames Valley & South Wales commented on the Grand Opening: “Today has been fantastic, with the whole of our Thames Valley & South Wales team excited to cut the ribbon on our new property. This resource has been needed for some time, as we have experienced a fantastic rate of growth. Now we have the space, we hope to attract more customers and more partners to the branch.”

Kite Packaging’s Swindon branch is a dedicated branch from the company’s six strong Major Accounts network. Specialising in bespoke packaging, service solutions and dedicated account management for large business customers, it covers a number of areas along the M4 corridor, and the South West and South Wales.
